Yummy Yummy In Taiping

Drove back to hometown last weekend for a friend's wedding dinner.
Since I was driving alone, didn't bother to stop for a break, took me about 2 hours from KL to Changkat Jering toll.

Taking this opportunity to share some food that has been around for 10 years or more in Taiping. It's all my favourite food that's all, nothing so superb about it to some of you though :).

Leng Chi Kang, Black, White

After a long drive, first stall I visited was my favourite refreshment stall.
As you can see from the pic above, the most left is Leng Chee Kang, next to it was Black, and follow by White.

Leng Chee Kang - a drink that will definitely quench your thirst ( to me at least :P ) . It comes with bird's egg, sweet potato and some unknown ingrediant to me :D. ( mm... "tao ke, leng chee kang chi ao" .. haha ).

Black - I don't know how or where the name derives from, but my guess is.. the color the drink is black, haha (Sounds logical ain't it?). What's in it was actually gula melaka, fresh milk, santan, peanuts, corns and etc. It looks pretty sweet huh? Actually not, just nice for your throat.. still.. to me at least :P.

White - Taste different from Black, because using different sirup I suppose. Each has it's own unique taste. Well, basically.. it's in white color, so i guess that's how it's name derives from.

Oh, there's another one call Red and you should be able to figure out how it looks like now :D.

Lok Lok

Next, a visit to my favourite Lok Lok shop, used to sell only RM0.25 per stick (10years back though, hehe..). Most important things for Lok Lok is the sauce that serve with it.

Can you see how much peanuts in the plate? (umm.. yum yum... Fei Mao should be hungry by now :D).

Ang Dao Ka

So, what drinks do you wanna serve with Lok Lok?
Most people will order this - Ang Dao Ka. It was actually ice blended red bean ( direct translation from hokkien ). Kinda rare to find it else where ( Or i don't know where :P) , that's make it a little special for this shop.

Morning Starter

Mm.. this noodle I really wont miss for every visit back to home town, it was delicious (to me still :P). Though it looks like an ordinary noodle from anywhere yet taste differently. A bit spicy, but the curry prawn.. you really dont wanna miss. You need to wake up 8.00a.m in the morning in order to order my favourite mee hoon + mee combination, it taste the best for this combination because.. mee-hoon will absorb the curry while mee will enhance the salty taste a bit ( omg, i can almost taste the noodle now! ). Heck, i went there after 9:30a.m. and mee-hoon sold off :((.

Due to the portion of it, most people will just order 2 bowls ( or you simply wouldn't wanna stop after 1st bowl :P ).

This noodle has been there for around 13 years i guess. I've get to know this noodle since primary school, haha.

Chu Cheong Fan

After the morning starter, I headed straight to Larut Matang, a lot of food stall located there. My another favourite morning "appetizer" - Chu Cheong Fan. Well, to be exact, another starter for me also :P. Sorry, it doesn't look that ugly and mess up actually, is just.. i straight have it into my stomach once it's on my table before i remember to take pic :)).

Can you see how much fried onion on it? and that makes it one of my favourite.

Fish Ball Fried Kueh Teow

Together with Chu Cheong Fan, I ordered another delicious - Fish Ball Fried Kueh Teow. There are couple of stall having this noodle, not sure how's the taste like but I particularly like this stall, it just taste so good ( Maybe you wanna print this picture out and look for the exact stall :P ). If you happen to take away the noodle, they will actually wrap it with banana leave..

Umm.. it just so delicious :p ( to me of course :D ).

Alright, that's about all for this visit and particularly food I wanna share with you all.
Anyone wanna pay a visit to my hometown now for food? haha.. :P

"
